ERIC INEKE JAZZXPRESS
Rik Mol-trumpet, flugelhorn, Sjoerd Dijkhuizen-tenor saxophone, Rob van Bavel-piano, Marius Beets-double bass, Eric Ineke-drums
Eric Ineke’s career started to take shape in the 1960s with bands formed by Ferdinand Povel. In the years that followed he regularly played with Dutch jazzmen such as Rob Agerbeek, Frans Elsen, Rein de Graaff, Piet Noordijk and Ben van den Dungen/Jarmo Hoogendijk and still enjoys the reputation of being one of the most solid sidemen in Holland. Nevertheless, the drummer from The Hague hankered after own band founding JazzXpress, with Sjoerd Dijkhuizen, Rik Mol, Rob van Bavel and Marius Beets. The repertoire includes solid pieces that reflect Ineke’s love of East Coast jazz.
