Without the influence of French impressionists such as Debussy and Ravel, jazz music would not be like it is today. Many jazz musicians are indebted to the music associated with these early 20th century composers. Ensemble a l’improviste consists of five improvising musicians from the Dutch jazz scene all of whom have built an impressive reputation. Together they will immerse themselves in the music of Claude Debussy, using his compositions as vehicles for improvisations based on the spirit, the musical colors and the personality of Debussy himself.
DJ Fant (Fant de Kanter), naast dj ook componist en muzikant, draait muziek in de breedste zin van het woord. Met het immense (modern) klassieke repertoire als uitgangspunt belandt hij tijdens sets regelmatig in sterk hieraan gerelateerde jazz, elektro en wereldmuziek, al dan niet dansbaar. En als het moment daarom vraagt.
