ENRICO ZANISI PIANO SOLO + FRANCESCO DIODATI “YELLOW SQUEEDS”

Enrico Zanisi piano solo
Francesco Diodati | Yellow Squeeds
Francesco Diodati guitar, compositions, Francesco Lento trumpet, Glauco Benedetti tuba/trombone, Enrico Zanisi – piano/Fender Rhodes/synths, Enrico Morello drums

The days before Christmas will have an Italian tinge to them, thanks to this double concert, which will be opened by a great piano talent from Rome. Enrico Zanisi earned praise for his album Piano Tales, on which he establishes himself as a solo pianist and composer with a broad palette. Influences from classical composers such as Schumann and Wagner are presented in a compact form, with the dynamics of contemporary jazz. ‘Going beyond classical music and jazz’, according to JazzNu.

Italian guitarist Francesco Diodati is praised for his captivating performances in the bands of trumpet celebrity Enrico Rava, with whom he also forms a duo. His own group Yellow Squeeds is making waves with the album Flow, Home. The research of an emotional focal point is the idea behind the airy compositions. The line-up is like a jazz quintet, but with the distinction that the double bass has been replaced by tuba. Featuring Enrico Zanisi on piano.

‘Francesco Diodati comes from a lineage of guitarists who are not out to fill the available space, but to create new space’ (Draai om je oren).
