EMIL DE WAAL FEAT. ELITH “NULLE” NYKJÆR & KASPER TOM 5
Three day festival with the finest jazz from Denmark. Day 1 is full of adventurous jazz from Emil de Waal (Danish Music Award for best jazz album 2013) and Kasper Tom 5 (featuring bass clarinetist Rudi Mahall).
The three day festival Danish Delight brings the finest jazz from Denmark, with concerts at leading Dutch and Belgian venues. Every concert features two bands representing contemporary Danish jazz. Danish Delight is organized by New Arts International in collaboration with JazzDanmark and several Danish jazz labels.
The first concert at the Bimhuis opens with the recent winners of the Danish Music Award for best jazz album of the year: the adventurous drummer/composer Emil de Waal and Danish jazz pioneer Elith ‘Nulle’ Nykjær on clarinet. Their band features internationally renowned musicians of various generations.
Drummer Kasper Tom Christiansen presents top players from the European improv jazz in his Kasper Tom 5: Rudi Mahall (bass clarinet), Tomasz Dabrowski, (trumpet), Petter Hängsel (trombone) and Jens Mikkel Madsen (bass). The debut album of Kasper Tom 5 received an honorable mention in the authoritative magazine The New York City Jazz Record.

020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free
entrance).
