Tonight marks the Dutch debut of this Italian wizard of contemporary piano music. In 2002 Arciuli presented a programme featuring the jazz pianist Thelonious Monk. He asked a number of prominent American composers to compose works for him based on the famous Monk tune ‘Round Midnight’. It resulted in pieces that include works submitted by Milton Babbit, William Bolcom, George Crumb, Michael Daugherty, Frederic Rzewski, Michael Torke and countless others.
