EDWIN BERG TRIO & JORG KAAIJ

Composer and pianist Edwin Berg (1972) is on of the most promising young musicians of the Dutch jazz. Since he was awarded a scolarship and studied in New York his career has been speeding up quickly. He worked with saxophonist Jorg Kaaij on his debut CD (with Kurt Rosenwinkel and Carl Allen) and founded the Edwin Berg Trio & Jorg Kaaij. With his first CD ‘Water’ he won the ‘Best Europe Jazz Band Award’ at the Concurso Internacional de Jazz Granada 2002. This prize consisted of a performance at the festival and an international record contract of which ‘Heartland’ is the first result.
