‘Dusko Goykovich is wonderful!’ When these words come out of the mouth of Dizzy Gillespie then you definitely have something to offer. He sure has, the 74 year old trumpet player of Bosnian roots: a solid ‘old school’ background in the States (from the big bands of Maynard Ferguson and Woody Herman, to name a few), with an extravagant style, inspired by Miles Davis and a love for music from the Balkans that makes him sound different from other bebop players.
