Draksler / Bach / Masecki

Kaja Draksler piano, Marcin Masecki piano

Kaja Draksler and Marcin Masecki give their own daring vision on immortal classical compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. The classically trained Slovenian pianist Kaja Draksler developed herself in the direction of free improvisation. Polish jazz pianist Marcin Masecki made name with his eccentric variations on the classical music of, among others, Bach, Scarlatti, and Chopin.

In the two years since they first formed a duo, Draksler and Masecki worked on a Bach repertoire that includes the Concerto for Two Harpsichords in C-minor (BWV 1060), Four Duets (BWV 802-805), some of the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988), and two of Kurtág’s transcriptions of Bach’s orchestral works (BWV 106 and 643).
