DONNY MCCASLIN TRIO

Donny McCaslin has got what it takes to become a star. The tenor saxophonist will perform as one of Dave Douglas’ sidemen at Bimhuis later this month, but first he will shine with his own trio. McCaslin’s solos are praised by both colleagues and critics alike Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ. In 2004 the New York musician received a Grammy nomination for Best Instrumental Jazz Solo. On his latest CD ‘In Pursuit’ McCaslin showcases his compositions, which have strong roots in traditional jazz.
