dOeK is the initiative of five open minded Amsterdam musicians who continuously strive to collaborate with exceptional improvisers from all over the world. For two days they giver room to highly original individuals who are ready to exceed genre distinctions and other boundaries. Everyone can join in with the concert of Kidsamonium on Saturday afternoon. Kazoos are handed out to parents and children while the youngster orchestra Kippenorkest creates confusion among the crowd. All the jolly mayhem is stirred up by the jazz band on stage, which includes Billy Jenkins, the Tommy Cooper of jazz guitar. ‘One of the most successful music events for children I have ever seen (and also great for adults!)’ (Ros Rigby, The Sage Gateshead). Tom Bancroft & Kidsamonium won de BBC Jazz Award for Innovation in 2007.
