DENIS COLIN & SOCIÉTÉ DES ARPENTEURS

Denis Colin is an inventive soloist on the bass clarinet, whose collaborations include work with Archie Shepp and Alan Silva. With his band La Société des Arpenteurs (The Society of Surveyors) he explores musical territories, discovering similarities between different styles. The Parisian ensemble plays compositions and arrangements by Colin, which range from soulful jazz and funk to Eastern and African trance music. ‘Rarely is jazz fused with other music so successfully’ (Jazz Times). Special guest is alto saxophonist Philippe Sellam, who has played with such artists as Roy Hargrove and John Scofield.
