Singer and keyboard player Dele Sosimi leads his own Afrobeat Orchestra, following the example of the legendary Nigerian saxophone player/vocalist Fela Kuti (1938-1997). Like the famous drummer Tony Allen, Sosimi once played in Kuti’s band Egypt 80. As band leaders they continue their teacher’s politically charged, relentlessly swinging afro funk into the 21st century.
