The Descendants, the ‘brass band of the global village’, are as catchy as brass and percussion music from all over the world with often a Surinamese variation in the basis. During their current tour, one of those aspects is highlighted: the Hindu music, going all the way back to North and South Indian traditions. For this special performance the group invited the master on the two-sided mridangam drum, Pregalathan Singaram.
