DAVID MURRAY BLACK SAINT QUARTET

Ever since his Bimhuis debut as a nineteen year old, David Murray has played here regularly with the most diverse bands but in the past fifteen years rarely as a band leader. With his Black Saint Quartet (named after the Italian jazz label for which he recorded seventeen albums from the late 70’s until the early 90’s), with the great piano talent Lafayette Gilchrist, Ray Drummond and Andrew Cyrille he goes back to his pure American jazz roots.
