Like no other group of its kind, the David Kweksilber Big Band demonstrates why the climate for ensemble music in the Netherlands receives such worldwide aaclaim. The big band brings together one-of-a-kind classical musicians and improvisers. Besides new works by composers from a wide range of styles, the repertoire consists of ground-breaking historical big band compositions. The group plays the Bimhuis every two months, on the last Monday of the month. Tonight’s repertoire will include Premières by Jacques Bank, Hilary Jeffery, Fant de Kanter and Roi Nachshon.
