Eccentric classical musicians play alongside top improvisers in the David Kweksilber Big Band. The repertoire includes new works by leading composers, as well as ground-breaking historical big band compositions. The group plays the Bimhuis every two months, on the last Monday of the month. At this year’s opening concert the big band will celebrate the New Year with new sounds from the inspiring Dutch music scene. The programme features compositions by, Joost Buis, Robert Graettinger, Hilary Jeffery, Geert van Keulen, Toek Numan and Keyla Orozco,among others. Tonight’s show will mark the premiere of Guus Janssen’s Love Songs!
