Like no other group of its kind, the David Kweksilber Big Band demonstrates why the climate for ensemble music in the Netherlands receives world wide praise. The big band brings together one-of-a-kind classical musicians and improvisers. Besides new works by composers from a wide range of styles , the repertoire consists of ground-breaking historical big band compositions such as Robert Graettinger’s City of Glass and Stravinsky´s Ebony Concerto. This concert is the first in a series; the big band will play every two months at the Bimhuis on the last Monday of the month. Featured soloists in this opening performance will include soprano Claron McFadden and tap dancer Peter Kuit.
