DAVE DOUGLAS & KEYSTONE

Live music with Bill Morrison’s film ‘Spark of Being’

Dave Douglas trumpet, Marcus Strickland tenor saxophone, Adam Benjamin Fender Rhodes, Brad Jones bass, Gene Lake drums

Keystone, led by trumpet giant Dave Douglas, plays imaginative music with rhythms and tonalities derived from hip-hop, funk and sixties jazz. The project Spark of Being is a collaboration with film maker Bill Morrison, breathing new life into the Frankenstein story. Douglas has made his mark in recent American music history. He has played with many famous musicians, from Tom Waits to John Zorn. ‘Whoever records Ellington, Webern and Stravinsky alongside his own compositions surely must have a flexible spirit’ (NRC).
