The landscape of his native Norway has always played a vital role in the music of Daniel Herskedal. With tuba and bass trumpet he can carry both melodies and bass notes in his trio with pianist Eyolf Dale and drummer Helge Anders Norbakken. Their open sound offers a framework for Herskedal’s accessible and lyrical compositions.

The title of their recent collaborative album Harbour refers to its main theme. The songs cover serious related subjects such as the refugee crisis, as well as light-hearted material such as ‘Port of Call’, based on the soundtrack of a classic video game.
