Dani de Morón Duo
Dani de Morón guitar/composition, Agustín Diassera percussion
For the ninth time the Flamenco Biennial will host concerts on our stage, with a focus on the crossover between jazz and flamenco. Without a doubt, Dani de Morón is one of the best guitarists of his generation. Born and raised in Morón de la Frontera, the Southern Spanish guitar town, he has a natural talent for the traditional alzapúa, the swinging of the thumb on the lower strings. At the same time he manages to create new harmonies and voicings.
Playing alongside the great Paco de Lucía has motivated Dani de Morón to develop his own unique signature. ‘Choose your own path,’ is what the maestro whispered to him. With his incomparable rhythm and tempo, Dani can make his guitar sound like a multitude of instruments. His solos echo the sounds of piano and double bass, for example. With his insatiable creativity he represents the future of the ‘toque’, the flamenco guitar tradition. Dani de Morón will perform music from his recent album Creer Para Ver together with the versatile percussionist Agustín Diassera.
