The Conservatory of Amsterdam is full of young, talented musicians with a drive to create and inspire. From May 23 till the end of June, every tuesday our stage will be the playground of these Rough Diamonds. Every edition two or more promising bands will perform, access is free.

Daan Sanders Quartet

Pianist Daan Sanders’ quartet connects jazz, fusion and classical. Inspired by musicians like Kurt Rosenwinkel and Brad Mehldau, the Daan Sanders Quartet creates a broad palette, from raw sounds to dreamy melodies.

Samuel Kiel’s Sonic Choir

Double bassist Samuel Kiel compares his ensemble to a choir; although no one uses their vocal cords, everyone in the ensemble has their own musical voice. All of the band members come from different backgrounds and cultures, something that can be heard in their playing. The sound of this “choir” is reminiscent of bands like Paul Motion E.B.B.B or Keith Jarret’s American Quartet.
