With 110 albums and over 50 years of performing to his name, Tito Puente is the undisputed king of salsa music. Tonight the Cubop City Big Band pays tribute to Puente, who passed away in 2000. Joining the stage is bassist Andy Gonzalez, who was a member of the Tito Puente‘s Golden Men of Latin Jazz. Cubop City has received several awards, but the greatest compliment these Europeans have been paid comes from the massive number of fans making illegal copies made of their music in South America. ‘These guys are all brimming with talent’ (Volkskrant). Tonight the Bimhuis cafe-restaurant will be serving a buffet menu instead of its usual a-la-carte menu (€ 15, from 18.30). Reservations recommended: 020-7882158.
