CRISTINA ZAVALLONI IDEA

Once again Bimhuis welcomes classically-trained Italian singer Cristina Zavalloni, a respected guest since the 1990s. She is the favourite vocalist of composer Louis Andriessen, who praised her in a Parool interview: ‘Christina combines various vocal styles in a unique way’. Zavalloni played one of the three lead roles in La Commedia, Andriessen’s new film opera, which premiered at the Holland Festival 2008. With her group IDEA she creates breathtaking music in which her voice shifts from one stylistic extreme to another.
