CRAIG TABORN SOLO

Minimalist, virtuoso, contemporary, abstract and rhythmically complex: these adjectives are often used to describe the music of American piano and keyboard player Craig Taborn. The piano and synthesizer improviser is counted among the most versatile American jazz musicians of his generation. In the last ten years he has appeared on more than fifty albums. Pure jazz with James Carter, techno crossover with Detroit DJ Carl Craig and adventurous improvisations with Time Berne. Tonight he will perform solo and will present his ECM solo CD Avenging Angel. ‘When he wants to, Taborn can speed skate over the keys like a young Cecil Taylor.
