On four Wednesday evenings in the Bimhuis during 2003 guitarist/composer Corrie van Binsbergen presented the series Writers in Concert, with Dutch literary authors Remco Campert, Toon Tellegen, Manon Uphoff and Kees van Kooten. These literary concerts were so surprising, well-received and successful that a national tour followed. Since then the series has become a high flyer with performances by the likes of Manon Uphoff, Ramsey Nasr, Renate Dorrestein, Rasha Peper, Hagar Peeters, Jules Deelder and Toon Tellegen. Intensive collaboration followed with Toon Tellegen. After ‘The Train to Pavlovsk and ‘Oostvoorne and other stories’ and the programme based on Tellegen’s animal stories, tonight’s performance is the opening night for the show entitled ‘… m n o p q …’ , with poems by Tellegen and (projected) drawings by Jan Jutte. After the intermission is ‘Werk in uitvoering’ (Work in Progress) with the Flemish actor/director, writer Josse de Pauw. Van Binsbergen worked with De Pauw once before, also in the Bimhuis, a performance considered one of the highlights in the series. After the show 23.30 hours free admission DJ PHILIPPONA Jazz Lost & Found Dance till late to hidden treasures & crazy grooves in vintage music.
