CORRIE & DE GROTE BROKKEN: LAST

Afterwards DJ Jules de la Courgette at the cafe

Corrie van Binsbergen gitaar/composities/samenstelling/productie, Bob Fosko, Beatrice van der Poel zang, Wouter Planteijdt gitaar/zang, Angelo Verploegen trompet, David Rothschild trombone, Efraim Trujillo, Rutger van Otterloo rieten, Dionys Breukers toetsen, Hans Hasebos marimba/vibrafoon, Hein Offermans bas, Yonga Sun drums

Once more the Brokken will go all out. Celebrated players from Dutch pop and jazz are brought together by guitarist Corrie van Binsbergen. Last chance, be there!

Last but not least: once more Corrie and her Grote Brokken band will storm the Bimhuis stage for a smashing set. The legendary 12-piece ensemble, featuring renowned Dutch pop and jazz musicians, is led by guitarist/composer Corrie van Binsbergen. During its 25th anniversary the band sounded better and more solid than ever, judging by the wildly enthusiastic response, too good not to go out on a limb one more time. Don’t miss this!

Pop, jazz and contemporary music form a natural whole in the music of Corrie and the Grote Brokken. Aside from vocalists Beatrice van der Poel, Bob Fosko and guitarist Wouter Planteijdt the band leader herself takes the spotlight with imaginative guitar solos.

‘Their zapping between styles sounds familiar as well as unprecedented. For example, heavy ska beats and beautiful, cinematic soundscapes are joined together at the drop of a hat. Everything is possible. It is so much fun to see the musicians engrossed in the excellent arrangements. This makes Corrie and the Grote Brokken a dynamic event that everyone should experience!’ (de Volkskrant).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
