The idea for Celluloid Jam Sessions is inspired by the history behind the soundtrack of Ascenseur pour l’echafaud (Louis Malle, 1958). During one long night, locked into a studio and surrounded with instruments, Miles Davis improvised to create the basis for the film music. The Cor Fuhler 4Tet and the duo Eric Vloeimans/Florian Weber will take on a similar challenge. Without rehearsal the musicians are tested with unexpected film fragments, shown on the spot.
