CONFERENCE CALL

This quartet is built around the extreme versatility of the German reed player Ullmann – from bass clarinet to soprano saxophone and basically everything in between – and the tight piano/bass combination Stevens and Fonda, known from their own intelligent and adventurous post bob. After Matt Wilson and Han Bennink, George Schuller is the current drummer. ‘Conference Call as a whole swings with a gleeful impetuosity that’s hard if not impossible to dislike.
