Louis Andriessen, The Netherlands’ most widely known contemporary composer, presents new and existing music that will be performed by Clazz Ensemble featuring guest soloists Cristina Zavalloni (vocals) and Monica Germino (electric violin). The program includes the boogie-woogie variations of On Jimmy Yancey, an ode to the groundbreaking big band music of Robert Graettinger and M is for Man, Music, Mozart, with film projections by Peter Greenaway. ‘They can sound raw and terrifying, but they can also play very clean.
