Several Dutch composers wrote new material for the programme Avonturen that accentuates the similarities between jazz and classical music. ‘The Clazz Ensemble is one of the finest initiatives in recent years’, says Jacob ter Veldhuis, ‘As a composer my roots are in rock, jazz and classical music, which are all represented here. I felt like a fish in water when my recent piece Pimpin’ was on the music stands of the ensemble.’ The programme includes compositions by Louis Andriessen, Paul van Brugge, David Dramm, Dick de Graaf, Ig Henneman, Nico Langenhuijsen, Michael Moore, Arend Niks, Ilja Reijngoud, Maud Sauer and Jacob ter Veldhuis.
