‘Be water’ was the core message of film star and martial arts legend Bruce Lee. It’s also the title of the new album by Christian Sands, on which the pianist takes inspiration from water’s tranquility, fluidity and power.
Be Water is the sixth solo album of Christian Sands, who made his recording debut at age twelve. The American jazz pianist has already enjoyed a remarkable career trajectory, touring and recording for many years with Christian McBride’s Inside Straight and Trio, as well as working with major stars such as Esperanza Spalding and Gregory Porter.
