CHRIS POTTER QUARTET

Chris Potter tenor saxophone, David Virelles piano, Joe Martin bass, Gerald Cleaver drums

Chris Potter’s authoritative and endlessly inventive style of playing has gained him universal acclaim as one of the leading saxophonists of his generation. Potter made a name for himself in the bands of Dave Holland and Dave Douglas and went on tour with Steely Dan. He was formed by the great tenor players, such as Lester Young and Sonny Rollins, but his acoustic quartet also displays influences of soprano player and composer Wayne Shorter. ‘A tenor saxophonist of sleek harmonic inquiry and superhuman technique’ (New York Times).
