CHES SMITH AND THESE ARCHES FEAT. TIM BERNE

‘I grew up playing a lot of jazz and a lot of rock and I feel like I
do not want to separate them anymore’, drummer Ches Smith said recently
after a performance with These Arches. For this all-star band he
composes seductive music, full of jumpy rhythms and warm timbres of
accordion and semi-acoustic guitar. These Arches, featuring saxophonists
Tim Berne and Tony Malaby, accordion player Andrea Parkins and
guitarist Mary Halverson, connects two generations of leading
improvisers from New York.
