Chatlein & Roe: Future’s Past
Sunday26 November 2023

The duo Chatlein & Roe has an eye for music of the past and sounds of the future. Vernon Chatlein plays percussion. He immerses himself in traditional drums and forgotten instruments of his ancestors from Curaçao. He rebuilds the instruments and makes new music with them. Tony Roe plays piano, while keeping up with the latest electronic gadgets. He tries to imagine the future: how cool will our musical instruments become? What flashy new sounds are popping up? Together they play futuristic music with a familiar ancient beat.

In the family concert series Groove Beest you will discover why some music makes you want to tap your foot to the beat or jump up start dancing. Together with MC Cheyenne Toney and the band members you will feel fthe groove. Sitting still is not an option; so jump, dance and clap along and unleash your inner beast. Get in the mood with this video.
