NL-NY MUSIC KITCHEN

Adventurous musicians from New York and The Netherlands cross paths in this double concert. The Amsterdam-based Celano-Baggiani Group approaches rock, jazz and South-American folk with the freedom of such Dutch improvisational artists as Misha Mengelberg and Han Bennink. Classically trained Swiss pianist Sylvie Courvoisier forms a duo with tenor saxophone player Ellery Eskelin, whose playing is deeply rooted in the American jazz tradition. Both players represent the cream of the New York avant-garde and serve to bridge wide gaps between musical idioms.
