Singer Cecile McLorin Salvant is being praised as the true heir to The Big Three–Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. Unique collaboration with the Metropole Orchestra.

Jazz vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant is experiencing a sensational international breakthrough. She was awarded as Best Female Jazz Vocalist by Downbeat. New York Times has even named her as the true heir to The Big Three of jazz vocalists–Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald.

Shortly after her Grammy-nominated album WomanChild, Cecile McLorin Salvant again celebrates success with For One to Love, on which she honors strong women such as Bessie Smith and Blanche Calloway. Together with the Metropole Orchestra she will pick a selection of songs from her own repertory, especially arranged by orchestra leader Vince Mendoza who will bring in some of his own compositions for this unique collaboration.

‘The finest jazz singer to emerge in the last decade. Ms Salvant has it all: perfect pitch and enunciation, a playful sense of humor, a rich and varied tonal palette, a supple sense of swing, exquisite taste in songs and phrasing, and a deep connection to lyrics’ (New York Times).
