CATHERINE RUSSELL
Catherine Russell vocals, Mark Shane piano, Matt Munisteri guitar/banjo, Lee Hudson bass
Singer Catherine Russell has jazz, blues, soul, rock and gospel in her blood; her father Luis was band leader with Louis Armstrong and her mother Carline Ray played bass with Doc Cheatham. Catherine herself has performed with the likes of such stars as David Bowie, Paul Simon and Madonna. Now she has a successful solo career of her own, in which she performs famous and lesser known gems from The Great American Songbook. ‘Sassy, smart and historically minded, this New York-based singer has the jazz world abuzz’ (LA Times).
