CATHERINE RUSSELL

Catharine Russell-vocals, Mark Shane-piano

Singer Catherine Russell has jazz, blues, soul, rock and gospel in her blood; her father Luis worked with Louis Armstrong and her mother Carline Ray played bass with Doc Cheatham. Catherine herself has performed with the likes of such stars as Paul Simon and David Bowie. Her voice enchants both audiences and critics alike. ‘The singer’s gutsy blues croon – one of the best this side of Bessie Smith – could melt the ice in a bourbon on the rocks’ (Boston Globe).
