The Bimhuis offers carte blanche to guitarist Bram Stadhouders, known for his adventurous playing and his experiments with electronics and soundscapes.
Within the new generation of Dutch jazz musicians, guitarist Bram Stadhouders can be seen as the heir to his great examples Pat Metheny and Arve Henriksen: adventurous improvisations, experiments with electronics and atmospheric soundscapes are important ingredients in his music.
Bram Stadhouders already started winning classical guitar competitions aged 8 and 9. At 25 he was the youngest composer ever to be commissioned to write new music by the North Sea Jazz Festival. His composition Henosis was performed by a classical choir. At the Bimhuis he has already performed with his childhood friend Onno Govaert, a leading drummer in the Amsterdam improvised music scene. Now Bram has been offered carte blanche for a concert at the Bimhuis.
‘Stadhouders leaves space between the notes, which makes them become unique entities with a maximum of significance’ (Jazzenzo).
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
