CARILLON

SAXOPHONE QUARTET DICKE LUFT

Saxophone Quartet Dicke Luft

Saxophonist Dick de Graaf presents music based on the Tone Clock, the innovative model by composer Peter Schat.

In the 1980s Dutch composer Peter Schat developed a new compositional system called the Tone Clock. This system gave Dick de Graaf the opportunity to combine composition and improvisation in a new way. His piece Carillon consists of twelve parts for every hour, of which every part corresponds with an hour of the Tone Clock. He translated this idea to twelve short riffs which lead to improvisations.

Before and after the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free
entrance).

The Bimhuis cafe and box office open at 9:00 AM. After the carillon, the Bimhuis Café is open (free
entrance).
