This double bill includes two quintets that share a knack for playing in the pocket. Captain Hook transports melodic hooks in spicy funk jazz, which has a seventies flavour through the use of Fender Rhodes and analogue effects. The quintet of Bart Lust (New Cool Collective Big Band) creates a colossal sound through the subtle interplay of trombone and tenor saxophone.
