BUNKY GREEN & ERIC LEGNINI TRIO
Bunky Green-alto saxophone, Eric Legnini-piano, Franck Agulhon-bass, Mathias Allamane-drums
Bunky personifies jazz’, says his great fan Joe Lovano about him, ‘he synthesized the influences of Parker and Dolphy and integrated them into his own individual language.’ Among colleagues the 71 year old American with the quicksilver alto is a legend but he spent a big part of his career, playing in groups of Mingus, Andrew Hill and Yusef Lateef, as a teacher. This is probably the reason why he never became famous, like he deserves to be. But last year he received the rare five star review in Down Beat for his album Another Place.
