Danish-British avant-jazz bordering on electronica and krautrock, from soundscapes to explosive passages. Featuring guitarist Jakob Bro and drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear).
This new band originates from Danish and British avant-jazz, where the boundaries with electronica and rock are increasingly dissolving. Their soundscape-like improvisations touch upon explosive krautrock and they have indeed performed with singer Damo Suzuki of the legendary krautrock band Can.
Danish guitarist Jakob Bro is one of ‘the coolest things in jazz today’, according to Downbeat Magazine. He played with jazz heroes such as Lee Konitz, Mark Turner and Kurt Rosenwinkel, but he also works with musicians from the Danish underground. His electric sound textures are significant in this quartet featuring pianist Søren Kjærgaard, bassist Nicolai Munch-Hansen and British drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear).
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 till 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
