Classical music and jazz/improvisation are united in Henosis, intense music for choir and the electric trio of guitarist Bram Stadhouders. Highlight of the November Music Festival in Den Bosch in 2013.

“Forget your hairdo, because your hair will be blown straight back by the force on stage that far exceeds the legal limit”, says de Volkskrant in a 4-star review of the premiere of Henosis. This piece for eight singers and an improvisational trio was written by guitarist Bram Stadhouders and commissioned by the North Sea Jazz Festival.

‘Henosis’ is the Old Greek word for unity. With this composition Bram Stadhouders proves that classical music and jazz/improvisation can be united. His Henosis is an intense experience that links both the bombastic with the intimate,with a perfect synergy between conductor, choir and improvisers.

Bram Stadhouders combines guitar and technology in his unique playing, which can be characterized as atmospheric, lyrical and experimental. This concert was part of November Music Day. The best music of the 21st edition of November Music the most important contemporary music festival in The Netherlands, held in Den Bosch in November 2013 can be heard at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Bimhuis.
