BRAD SHEPIK TRIO

On of the most interesting and amusing developments in American jazz in recent years is the integration of Balcan rhythms. One of the most masterful agents of this movement is guitarist Brad Shepik. He worked with excellent groups like Dave Douglas’ Tiny Bell Trio, Matt Darriau’s Paradox Trio and Pachora of drummer Jim Black and his own bands like The Commuters. ‘Shepik’s got the mind of a pioneer’, is what All About Jazz wrote about him. ‘The rhythmic complexity of his compositions has few parallels in jazz or any other genre, for that matter.’
