BOX
Raoul Björkenheim-guitar, Trevor Dunn-bass, Ståle Storløkken-keyboards, Morgan Ågren-drums
Four instrumentalists that intensely improvise in the twilight zone between jazz, improvisation and rock for the first time. No looking at sheet music beforehand and no artistic agreements but just a few hints: impossible rhythms, uncompromising bass lines, shamanistic guitar parts and rough samples. ‘Based on the eclectic repertoire of each musician one might expect an intense exploration of musical structure, fusing hardcore elements of jazz, rock, and experimental improvisation into a hybrid of styles. Avant-garde rock behemoth? Nu-jazz supergroup? Post-jazz boy band? Experimental other? You decide!’
