Pianist Rein de Graaff has been playing bebop since the 1950s. In New York he met the inventors of the genre and he brought many great American soloists to The Netherlands. Dave Pike experienced the bebop revolution when living in Los Angeles. He was hailed as the follower of Milt Jackson and he worked closely with Paul Bley, amongst many others. The vibraphone player experimented with raga, rock and latin and scored hits with his European band Dave Pike Set. The two veterans are spurred on by saxophonist and new-style bophead Benjamin Herman.
