Guitarist Jelle Roozenburg and trombonist Louk Boudesteijn join forces in Bonsai Panda, challenging each other and their band members with new compositions dipped in blues, charged with jazz and heavily influenced by great 20th century composers such as Stravinsky, Shostakovich and Messiaen. The magic of their improvisations lifts their music to new heights with every performance.
In this sonic adventure they team up with eclectic reeds master David Kweksilber, French horn guru Romain Bly and the uncompromising Jimmi Jo Hueting on drums and electronics. Bonsai Panda brings together rising stars and seasoned veterans from ensembles as diverse as New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, Kyteman Orchestra, New Cool Collective and Asko|Schönberg.
