Sound artist Gert-Jan Prins and vocal performer Jaap Blonk are the curators of this edition of BIMLAB, the concert series with improvisations in the Bimhuis café.
Gert-Jan Prins creates experimental music with self-designed electronic instruments, which enable him to improvise in a live setting. He started his career as a percussionist and he has developed himself as a composer and sound artist. Jaap Blonk is a composer, performer and poet. His voice has always been his main instrument in developing new sounds. He has added a new dimension to his performances through the use of live electronics.
BIMLAB is an improv series in the Bimhuis café with unexpected musical encounters. For every edition, two curators are selected from the members of the Union of Dutch Improvisers (BIM), who were once the Bimhuis founders. The curators will invite musicians for an evening of short, adventurous sessions.
