Drummer Billy Elgart might be fairly known through his work with musicians like Paul Bley, Carla Bley, Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler and the countless recordings he did with Italian musicians in the past ten years, but he is still particularly a ‘musicians musician’. It is especially at this moment that his playing takes up a central position in these two remarkable groups of musicians, completing perfectly in contrast and atmosphere.
